September Chun was born 1st of September(hence her name) 2002 in Hong Kong to a corp-tech family. In 2011 they moved to Night City to start their own business. Unfortunately Septembers parents were not prepared for the cutthroat competition in USA and soon went bankrupt. In order to survive at all Septembers parents decided to swear fealty to the local Triads.

When she turned 14 September had grown into a beautiful girl and the local Tong-leader decided to sell her body to wealthy customers from the Corpzone. Two years later the Night City underworld shook from the impact of the bloody war between the established crime syndicates and the Jamaicans. In this conflict Septembers parents perished and during the last days of the gang war she was temporarily pressed into combat service. Using the skills she picked up then, and the general confusion in the Triad ranks, September jumped ship and moved to the Mafia-controlled part of Night City.

For the second time in her life she turned to her beauty for a living, but this time on her own volition and not as a prostitute but as a stripper at The Owl. September never was very popular as a stripper because, although good looking enough, she was too aloof and cold to really appeal to the customers. Nevertheless she managed to make enough money to invest in some hardware and skip the skintrade to become a gun-girl. At the start of her new career she only operated as far from her home and as far from Triads turf as possible to avoid any unwanted attention. Her jobs usually were to scare two-bit punks away from shops and the occasional bodyguarding for those of few fiscal means. Her experiences has left September a rather hard and cold woman, as stated before and thus she has only a few friends of which Jan Cornelius is the closest, mainly because he's the one man she's met who hasn't been rude and sexually pushy towards her, this adding to her being attracted to him.

Because of her early days September detests both organized crime, corporations and governments. Another effect is that she always defends the underdog and occasionally goes out of her way to take on corps and mobsters. In 2025 the Big One hit California and September lost almost all her friends and lost her home as well. While trying to find some out if any of her friends had survived at all, she managed to land a bodyguard job in Brazil where she met Vita who offered September a job as a bouncer at The Freefall Club. For lack of anything better September accepted, and found out she liked the work. She also found that Jan Cornelius had moved to New York and their reunion was quite warm.
