Layering Armor
As our campaign developed we found that the current rules for armor encouraged
a "Michelin" attitude towards armoring oneself. I.e vast amounts of protection
which in turn made the poor referee (That's me) stoop to the ignoble resort of
ever increasing calibers for the weaponry of the opposition. Not very fun, nor
imaginative... Hence we decided to revise the rules for layering armor as follows:
Take the square of the SP of each armor layer and add these. The
square root of this sum is the resulting
composite armor value. Round down, it's a
dark future.
Example: Vita has SP 12 skinweave and a SP 14 armor
corset on her torso. 12^2 + 14^2 = 144 + 196 = 340. The square root of
340 is 18.43, for a final SP of 18.
Any special abilities of any armor layer is retained, such as hard armor.
Encumbrance values are added as normal.
Note: We have a modified armor table. It will be presented her at a
later date.
